Summary

This article examined the effectiveness of several safety interventions designed to increase performance. Based on the evaluation of eleven computer terminal operators, the results indicated that the safe ergonomic interventions elevated performance above the baseline assessment. Moreover, the five individuals whose interventions included behavioral observation collections outperformed those who were not asked to actively search out safety examples. The overall findings pointed to possible behavioral mechanisms responsible for safety intervention performance effectiveness.
