Summary

Focuses on the role of employee engagement in business growth. According to a recent survey, less than 25% of employees have a strong desire to stay with their employer. These results suggest that employees are less engaged than they should be. Hence, if organizations want to move beyond maintenance and into growth, they should first attempt to cultivate higher levels of engagement. According to the article, organizations need to move beyond simply assessing engagement levels, they need to include business-focused measures in their assessments to ensure that employees have the opportunity to feel more engaged by providing their input and feedback on business objectives. Furthermore, survey results need to be used to plan organizational initiatives, and managers and supervisors across the organization need to be empowered to drive both business results and employee engagement in pursuing those results.
